Cookie Policy.
What cookies and similar technologies we use, why we use them, and how you can change your mind anytime.
A “cookie” is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can remember things between visits (like your preferences). This page explains what we use cookies for at whimsicalentertainment.net and gives you control over them.
01. The three categories we use
Strictly necessary — These run the site. They handle the booking flow, security, basic preference memory, and the cookie banner itself. These cannot be turned off, because the site won’t work without them.
Analytics (optional) — These help us understand which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where things break. The data is aggregated and anonymous. We do not sell it.
Marketing & remarketing (optional) — These help us show Whimsical content on other platforms (e.g. Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram) and measure whether those ads bring people back to the site. They allow third-party services to recognize a return visit.
02. How to change your mind
You can adjust your cookie preferences any time:
- Click Cookie preferences in the footer (or right here).
- Or clear cookies for our site in your browser settings and reload — the banner will reappear.
03. Specific cookies we set
Our own first-party storage:
whimsical_cookie_prefs_v1— remembers your cookie choices. Strictly necessary. Stored inlocalStorage.whimsical_admin_token— only set if you sign in to the admin dashboard. Stored insessionStorageand cleared when you close the tab.
Third-party tools we may load only if you opt in:
- Google Analytics (analytics) — anonymous traffic measurement.
- Meta Pixel / TikTok Pixel (marketing) — ad performance measurement on social platforms.
- Pinterest tag (marketing) — measures Pinterest pin-driven traffic.
If you opt out of a category, the corresponding scripts are not loaded.
04. Cookies that always run
Some third-party services load only when you actively use a feature, and they set their own cookies as part of that use:
- Stripe — sets cookies during checkout for fraud prevention and session continuity. Required for processing payment.
- Google Fonts — does not set tracking cookies, but logs IP addresses to deliver the font files.
Because these are necessary to deliver a service you explicitly asked for (e.g. paying), they fall under “strictly necessary.”
05. Browser tracking signals
We honor browser-level “Global Privacy Control” (GPC) and “Do Not Track” signals where applicable. If your browser sends a signal opting out of non-essential cookies, we treat that as a decline for analytics and marketing.
